Friday, I was pretty excited that the season changed to Fall as it is my favorite season. I do have a hard time choosing a favorite season, but the changing leaves and comfortable weather moves Autumn to the top vote. I love to spend time outside in the Fall, hopefully we will get some time outside to enjoy the beautiful scenery. I did get to start off the season with a pumpkin coffee and by baking two loaves of pumpkin bread. I crave pumpkin all throughout the year, so I can actually make it without Jon thinking I'm crazy or pregnant!
This weekend was pretty rainy off and on so we didn't get to disc golf like we wanted to, but instead we had an official stay home day on Saturday. That is, I turned my phone off to the world and we didn't leave the house all day except to take Molly out and a late night trip to Culver's for custard! We had a pretty full day Sunday with church, a meeting afterwards, and then a work get together at the horse racetrack. By the way, it was quite different being on the other side of the tracks, literally, from where I had been teaching this last summer. What a different perspective of the many higher income finely dressed people that go to gamble. Meanwhile on the other side of the racetrack, the workers are living in shack apartments working insanely hard to make it all possible while providing for their families. Anyways, my our goal in going was obviously not to gamble, but to enjoy seeing the beautiful horses and spending time with some of my coworkers.
Anyways, I hope that you are all thankful for the season even if it is not your favorite. I am very much looking forward to taking walks in the cool air with the bright leaves swirling about me, ahhh. What is your favorite thing about Fall?

Oh, honey, i love to read your writing...your love of life and creation, and your compassion come through for such enjoyment!
What do I love about fall? Becuase I always think of YOU when it's fall, for it IS your favorite! And THAT makes me happy!
I was also looking at the gradually fading nature, signs of dying again today (like we were discussing the other night) and I realized that as sad as that is, it is WONDERFUL, for it reminded me that we have to DIE in order to really LIVE. And i was so full of hope and gratitude!
you know, as a grain of wheat...
Thanks for the lovely reflections, dear heart!
i'm with you ... pumpkin stuff. like pumpkin spice shakes at culvers. butternut squash too. when you come visit next let's bake!!
Same as you; the smells, the colors, plus the crispness in the air. Gets me in the mood to bake and drink tea with mulling spices.
