My Little Stowaway

Last weekend, I packed up a suitcase to go house sit for the week and Jon said that Molly was quite distraught after I left.  She never likes to see me take out a suitcase because she never knows if she's coming with or not and how long she'll be separated from me.  Below are some pictures that Jon took after I left.  Apparently, she waited for an hour at the landing where she can see out the front door windows.  Then she resigned herself to go upstairs near Jon and wait staring towards the door, hoping I would come home.
Waiting, waiting.

Sad Pocket.

Well, tonight I once again started packing for Thanksgiving weekend and she did not like that.  She came and climbed on in to my suitcase.  I'm not surprised she chose the bigger pile of clothes, are you?  Still a "Princess and the Pea" pup.
"You think I'm moving??  I'm not moving! You better make some room for me in your suitcase or else!"

"Please don't go, p-p-p-please."

Molly is also sporting one of her new doggy sweaters from her Auntie Lindsay.  I will have to take a picture of her legs because they are so fluffy they look like turkey legs.  But now, Pocket is prepared for the cold and wet winter!

Congratulations, Helquist Family!

Last night, Emily and Anders had their beautiful little girl!  Jon and I are very happy to be an auntie and uncle to this little one and are excited to see her in less than a week!  Isn't she just precious!

Enjoy it while it lasts

This afternoon, Jon and I took advantage of the warm November 55 degree weather and went to play disc golf.  Although we had some snow chunks falling on Thursday, the temperature hasn't completely dropped and stayed, so we'll enjoy what nice weather we have left.  We hadn't gone in awhile, specifically since Jon had lost his fairway disc in some nearby trees and didn't want to lose it again.  As usual, we brought the Pocket out to play too and this time Jon tried to teach her the word 'frisbee' in order to turn her into a frisbee finding dog in case another one gets lost.  But, she didn't really grasp onto the word and instead was more interested in the many things around her to smell as well as being worried about where I was.

"But I don't want to be put in leaves"

Tomorrow, it's supposed to be about 60 degrees, hopefully Molly and I will be able to spend some time outside while Jon is studying!

A Little Catch-Up

I haven't been blogging a lot and I'm also behind on some big things, so I'll catch up a bit right now.  Last month, my mom visited while Jon was in Rochester for Fall break.  I wish I could have visited his family as well, but my vacation time is accrued quite slowly.  So, my mom and I thought it would be a good time for a visit rather than me being alone.  It's really been nice having the train for her to come down on and I always love stopping by the train depot to pick her up!  She was a good help with the Pocket Baby while I was at work and Molly loved having someone to cuddle next to and hang out with rather than being in her little bathroom all day.  Although I was busy with some things, it was nice having time to hang out with my mom and enjoy some of her tasty cooking!  Unfortunately with our new place of living, I don't think I'll get these treats in the next year.  On the weekend, I did have to babysit, but she was able to come along with and meet the boys and get to experience my babysitting adventures!

On Sunday, though, I also got to see my dad and Anders!  Jon had driven home from Rochester so that we could drive up to Milwaukee and meet them to go to the Brewer's game 6 against the Cardinals.  We were both really excited because we had never been to such a special game like that.  The atmosphere at the field was pretty amazing!  Plus, we've never gotten the chance to tailgate in the middle of October before.
 Pre-game smiles!

Applewursts and Japaleno Cheesewurst tailgating!

Love him!

Ahhh, nice banner to see: NL Central Champions!

Anders, not happy.  Pretty sure his expression never improved, but only got worse as the Cardinals kept scoring.  Even though it was painful to watch the Cardinals win, it was a lot of fun to be at a playoff game.  Thanks dad for a great and special experience!

When we came home, mom had been taking care of the Pocket and both were happy to see us, but we were still bummed out about the game.  Thankfully, my mom got to stay for two more days and we got to have some more special time together.  Thanks for making the trek down, mom!  I'm glad we'll get to see everybody (including my soon-to-be-neice) in a few weeks!

Don't Forget About The Pocket!

Molly has been a bit lacking in the blog as of late, so I thought I'd show you how fluffy she is and what she's been up to.

Here is a video of her acting crazy a few weeks ago.  I don't completely remember, but I think she was in her cubby before this and so she felt liek she had to release all of her pent up energy.  Mind you, this was about two minutes into her freak out mode.  She settled down fairly quickly after this.  But you should've seen the crazy look in her eyes!

Baby Leaf-Face
Molly loves going outside in this crisp weather and romping around.  As the leaves are still falling and flying about, she tends to pick them up all over her body.  She's constantly stopping to pick at a pine needle stuck in her butt or leg fur.

We all know how attached Molly is to me, so this picture shouldn't shock you too much.  Jon had just cracked my back and as I was still on the floor, she came and crawled on top of me.  Silly Pocket.

CSO + YYM

I just booked tickets today to go to here...

musiccelebrations.blogsome.com
(Chicago Symphony Orchestra Hall)

.....to see this person!!!

depauw.edu
(Yo-Yo Ma!!!)

bahhhhh!  I'm so overjoyed, I have been smiling all day because of it.  I've been a giddy little music nerd and telling people who could probably care less, because I'm so happy!  At least my family knows what a big deal this is as I've listened to him and talked about him forever.  Jon knows that one of my goals while living in Chicago was to go to the CSO, so this last year for my birthday he gave me a gift certificate to the CSO.  He also knew that one of my life goals was to see Yo-Yo Ma play live, so I get to accomplish both of those goals!  I'm pretty excited that Jon let me choose seats on the main level as well.  But when the ticket lady asked if I wanted to be on an aisle seat, in my mind I said, "You better not do that, I might rush the stage when he's on it."  I won't.  Hopefully.  Then I'd get kicked out.  My eyes will probably just well up and I'll be glued to the stage for the night.  I would be fine if he played a "C" scale and left, he'd play it so beautifully and full of feeling, I'm sure.
Going to the orchestra still gives me the same feeling as I remember getting when I was little and my family would occasionally go to the Duluth Orchestra.  I remember it was special night to dress up and listen to other fancy people play perfect music.  I don't think that feeling has ever changed, even when I went to dozens of concerts at the Minnesota Orchestra during my time at Bethel.  Now, I just have to wait and be patient until I actually get to go to the concert, not just hold onto the tickets in anticipation.

Thank you so, so, so, much Jonathon!
