CSO + YYM

(Yo-Yo Ma!!!)

bahhhhh!  I'm so overjoyed, I have been smiling all day because of it.  I've been a giddy little music nerd and telling people who could probably care less, because I'm so happy!  At least my family knows what a big deal this is as I've listened to him and talked about him forever.  Jon knows that one of my goals while living in Chicago was to go to the CSO, so this last year for my birthday he gave me a gift certificate to the CSO.  He also knew that one of my life goals was to see Yo-Yo Ma play live, so I get to accomplish both of those goals!  I'm pretty excited that Jon let me choose seats on the main level as well.  But when the ticket lady asked if I wanted to be on an aisle seat, in my mind I said, "You better not do that, I might rush the stage when he's on it."  I won't.  Hopefully.  Then I'd get kicked out.  My eyes will probably just well up and I'll be glued to the stage for the night.  I would be fine if he played a "C" scale and left, he'd play it so beautifully and full of feeling, I'm sure.
Going to the orchestra still gives me the same feeling as I remember getting when I was little and my family would occasionally go to the Duluth Orchestra.  I remember it was special night to dress up and listen to other fancy people play perfect music.  I don't think that feeling has ever changed, even when I went to dozens of concerts at the Minnesota Orchestra during my time at Bethel.  Now, I just have to wait and be patient until I actually get to go to the concert, not just hold onto the tickets in anticipation.

Thank you so, so, so, much Jonathon!

Oh I'm so glad you finally made reservations to go! I know that's been on your "to do" list since you moved to Chicago land. What an awesome treat that will be for you!
(The music teacher in me is even a teensy bit jealous!!!)

I need to come up and go to that concert with you. I haven't been getting my classical concert fixes for a LONG time. I loved going to those concerts at the DECC with you!
